Since the middle of the 1950 s,the container sharing system has been on the phase of the transformation. It has shifted from unorganized cargo handling technologies into well-managed effective extensive vessels system. An employee of the containers has undergone several improvements including an increase in multimodal productivity that reduces the transition time from point to point.A significant shift reduction in cargo damage has been recorded. This tendency has established great benefits for shippers and carriers.Contrary, increased operational complexity besides many variables and fixed costs have been recognized.Controlling these is crucial in conditions like intense high competition in a turbulent economic period. In this research, the problems in empty container management, empty container transportation are discussed and intended to find satisfactory solutions to them.We suggest a more pragmatic model that could optimize global empty container movements. This novel approach will assess the potentials of the container sharing system and provides insights into the container sharing operation. Therefore,we simulate a dataset from real situations for four districts namely: A,B,C,and D.The study has been developed a refreshing multi-criteria decision making(MCDM)based methodology to model the international container sharing system(ICSS).The proposed method analysis various criteria to learn different probable situations and solutions. Then,it employs an association rule mining system aims to reduce bureaucracy and combine existing rules and regulation effectively.Next, the selected rules and factors used for designing a fuzzy decisionmaking system for learning dataset. Finally, the proposed fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making system(FMCDM)used for dataset testing of proposed approach proficiency. The major findings include:(1)The proposed approach reduces cost which transportation and gate fees could be seen as major ones.(2)It improves empty container reuse. As well as empty containers are offered to the users at low prices and short term.(3)Also,it would be more effective for a trade-balanced environment than the trade-imbalanced one.(4)The number of participants in this transport system positively impact the viability and effectiveness of the “container sharing” system.(5)The difference in empty containers supply and demand caused a variable degree of the proposed method effectiveness.(6)Container users also could have a higher encouragement for enhancement of the container sharing set-ups than shipment.Successful execution of the container sharing system depends on the involvement of each container owner and container leasing company. The results showed that the performance of the proposed approach for three experimental stats namely, available, half available and empty outperforms the traditional system. In the following chapters in the current thesis, detailed results are demonstrated to get inside of the container sharing management system.
