With the vigorous development of Chinese infrastructure,the requirements for construction machinery are increasing,especially in the fields of power and high-rise construction.The construction machinery such as the traditional tower crane,crawler crane and truck crane are all unable to meet the needs of construction.Thus,it is of great significant to design large construction machinery to meet domestic and foreign market demand.The purpose of this research is to design a Large luffing tower cranes for the field of power energy construction.First of all,according to the existing product specifications of large-scale luffing tower crane on the market,the parameters of the crane were selected and determined under the condition of meeting the demand of power energy construction.Then,the dead load,lifting load,wind load and inertia load of the tower crane are calculated by the determined performance parameters.In addtion,the balance state of the tower crane is designed,and the anti-overturning stability of the whole tower crane is calculated and verified.Secondly,the overall selection and design of the luffing type tower crane are carried out.The combined design method is adopted for the overall selection and design.The integral and various mechanisms of the movable-arm tower crane,including lifting mechanism,rotary mechanism,luffing mechanism,hydraulic jacking system,luffing,herringbone,bottom beam and other important mechanisms and components,are designed and calculated according to the parameter planning.And the internal force calculation and strength check for the main structural part of the tower crane are carried out by the traditional mechanical method.Finally,in order to further verify the rationality of product design,the commercial finite element analysis softwares like: SAP and ANSYS are used to establish the finite element models of the whole crane and main components under different working conditions.Then the stress nephogram of the main components and the displacement nephogram of the tower crane under six different working conditions are obtained by the finite element analysis.Based on the result,some important parts of the crane is optimized to complete the research and development of the whole tower crane.The overall design and structural analysis of the products guarantee the crane meet the requirements of the corresponding national rules and codes,and the research conclusions was applied to practical engineering applications.the research of this subject also provides a theoretical basis for the development of large movable luffing tower crane which conforms to the present situation at home and abroad.
