Along with the development of economy,the progress of society and the improvement of people's livilihood,the public awareness has gradually been ntensified in terms of the management and decision-making of various social and public affairs.Over time,due to the lack of public understanding about nuclear power project,part of the public has been in fear of nuclear power.Furthermore,the media platform has exaggerated the harm of nuclear related industries in recent years,leding to the public concern about the nuclear power project at an all-time height.According to the “Development Plan for Nuclear Power Industry during the 13 th Five-Year Plan”,which was officially enacted in early 2017,the total installed capacity of domestic operation and construction units is expected to reach 88 million kilowatts till 2020.In the past few years,however,China has witnessed numerous mass incidents in which the public does not support printing,leading to the suspension or even stranding of large projects.Under the special circumstance,it is of great significance to try every possible means to establish good public relations and obtain the public understanding and support soas to promote the development of nuclear power industry in China.To date,the public relations related research in China's nuclear power projects has remained in its infancy stage.The public understanding of nuclear power projects has been neither deep nor extensive,accompanied by low public recognition and passive participation.With the method of questionnaire survey,the paper carries out an analytical study on the present situation of public relations in local area by collecting more than 600 valid questionnaires from 6 communities around Nuclear Power Company A.By sorting out the logical relationship between the overall strategic and public relations functional strategy of the company,the paper enumerates the current advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats faced by Nuclear Power Company A in public relations combined with the external environment and internal resources and capabilities.In addition,by means of stragetic combination,the paper proposes the suggestions on strategic countermeasures of public relations for the company from five aspects.It is hoped to provide certain reference for the policy makers and public relations implementers of the company.
