Investigation Of Roadside Greenbelt In Shanghai

With the development of social economy,the requirement for surroundings and public space is changing.People desire to have a comfortable space for relaxation and entertainment.Therefore,the construction of green space is getting more and more attention.Roadside greenbelt as the important part of urban green space system could beautify the landscape of city,improve the ecologic environment,provide space for relaxation and etc.Roadside greenbelt is closely connected with people's daily life,thus it's meaningful to investigate how to plan and design the roadside greenbelt better.The main contents of this study are listed as follows:(1)Illustrate the study background and theoretical basis for roadside greenbelt,and introduce the aims,methods and technical route of this study.(2)Introduce the objects,the methods and contents of this investigation,and how to evaluate the quality of roadside greenbelt.(3)Investigate the distribution,spatial characteristics,landscape elements,service condition of 18 roadside greenbelts in Wujiaochang street and Siping Road street.(4)Apply the Likert Scale to study the common condition of roadside greenbelt in Shanghai through investigating the factors of space,facility and environment in Wujiaochang street and Siping Road street.(5)Conclude the situation of roadside greenbelt from the aspects of planning and landscape design;give some practical suggestion and strategies through instance transformation.The present study investigated 18 roadside greenbelts in Wujiaochang street and Siping Road street through field researches,interviews and questionnaire survey.Descriptive analysis was carried out on the material spatial environment of roadside greenbelts.The quality of roadside greenbelts were evaluated and compared according to 14 factors on aspects of space,facility and environment.The difference was also compared between roadside greenbelts in life blocks and blocks of publicity.We found that the roadside greenbelts in blocks of publicity in Wujiaochang street is more than those in Siping Road street.Overall,the quality of those roadside greenbelts are in the common level,while a small part of roadside greenbelts are designed well.In the blocks of publicity,the roadside greenbelts lack of entertainment fitness facilities,which might be due to priority to landscaping and recreation in crowded district.In the study,we apply the Post Occupancy Evalutaion(POE)method evaluating the quality of roadside greenbelts in Wujiaochang street and Siping Road street to understand the construction condition and problems of roadside greenbelts in Shanghai.Based on the investigation and related data,we further explore how to plan and design roadside greenbelt better.The concluded suggestion and strategy could be for reference to develop and improve the construction of roadside greenbelts in Shanghai or other cities.
