Piston is a critical part for the engine,which design influenced engine's reliability,durability and economical efficiency.For rigid requirement of customer and laws,the design of the piston is the key of engine's development.First,it is to confirm the critical dimensions by one-dimensional manipulation.Secondary,it is to model and mesh the piston,then to use ANSYS software to do numerical Simulation Analysis,which results including temperature,stress,safety factor,those make sure that the structural strength of piston is up to standard.Finally,by using AVL software to do piston secondary motion with orthogonal experiment,it is a way to select the best optimized design though many design projects.The piston is needed to be test and verify by rig tests and engine tests.The rig tests include the pin and skirt fatigue test,temperature test.The engine tests are hot scuff test and durability test.There is a method to check the temperature of piston by detect residual hardness after the engine test.
