With the continuous development of computer technology,the technology of Building Information Modeling(BIM)has been rapidly popularized in the field of Civil Engineering with its advantages of visualization and high information integration.However,most of the water conservancy and hydropower projects using BIM technology just use BIM for conceptual design and reverse modeling,and the Level of Detail of the models is generally not high.The design and construction still use traditional 2D drawings.Which violates the original intention of BIM forward design.At present,the dilemma encountered in the application of BIM technology in water conservancy and hydropower industry is,in the final analysis,the localization of BIM softwares.Recently,the mainstream core BIM softwares are developed by foreign companies,and they mainly service the housing and construction industry.Therefore,there are many incompatibilities between BIM softwares and China's Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering in drawing standards.In order to realize the compatibility between BIM software and China's Standard for Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering Drawings,and improve the efficiency of BIM software in Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering design,construction and cost management,this paper developed a rebar information management platform for hydraulic reinforced-concrete structure's building-information-models based on Autodesk Revit.Firstly,this paper discusses the characteristics of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering,points out the differences between Water Conservancy & Hydropower Engineering and Civil Engineering in the steel rebar drawing standards of reinforced concrete structure design.After in-depth study of the use and the document structure of Revit,propose the feasibility of developing a hydraulic reinforcement bar information management plug-in that conforms to the "Standard for Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering Drawings" through applying Revit API,and the following functions are realized:(1)Localization of rebar information management: Change Revit's built-in rebar family's name system to one that conforms to Chinese drawing standards;remove the types of steel bars that have been eliminated.(2)Standardization of rebar drawing: Use the plug-in to draw rebar labels that conform to Chinese specifications;make quantity calculation and quickly generate rebar schedules and export them to an Excel sheet.(3)Informatization of rebar field management: Help field managers and workers to better inquire and manage the information of rebars.Through the development of this plug-in,the efficiency of applying BIM technology in the design and construction of reinfoced concrete structure of water conservancy and hydropower engineering has been greatly improved,which will better promote the application of BIM technologe in Water Conservancy and Hydropower industry.
