| China respectively released the “New Medical Reform” program in 2009 and the “Health China 2030 Planning Outline” in 2016.The goal is,through adding vitalities by renewing facilities,to make the quantity and quality of the hospitals’ services and patients’ experiences meet the heightening-level demands.Moreover,it benefits the nearby pension.At this moment,many secondary hospitals are necessarily to change their ideas to serve the local population.As the first line of defense for medical epidemic prevention,these existing hospitals have to be renewed to better serve the citizens.And with the present vigorously promotion of energy conservation and emission reduction,it is more necessary for the existing hospitals to update themselves.The updates for the existing hospitals will greatly enhance the patients’ experiences,including optimizing the layouts for the departments,rearranging treatment cycles,meeting the national specifications,upgrading equipment and technology to save energy,adjusting the facades for the patients’ sense,redesigning the interior environments and patio greening for the local cultural heritage.This thesis uses the redesign processes of Liwan District People’s Hospital and Liwan District Orthopedic Hospital,two hospitals with long histories located in the densely populated area in the center of Guangzhou city,as examples to explore how to achieve both science and technology without losing humanistic care and meet the requirements of the “New Medical Reform”. |
