With the development of our economy,large number of commercial complexes have sprung up,and the tall atrium in the commercial complex is the most densely populated place.To ensure a comfortable and healthy shopping environment,the air delivery method of tall commercial atrium has become the key point of research.First,this paper summarizes the research present situation of large space in air flow,thermal comfort,air quality and air conditioning system economy,and concludes the deficiency of the current research.Based on the previous research,the four conventional air modes used in tall space are studied in this paper,which based on AIRPAK software.The result shows that up-return and down-supply air delivery method is best.On this basis,the two-side up-return and down-supply air delivery method is proposed in this paper.Compared with other air modes,under the same air supply temperature and air flow,this air supply method can get a lower temperature in human occupied zone,and the PMV value is more uniform in the human activity area.In addition,the maximal value of MOA in the occupied area is 300s,and the minimal value is only 67s,which is obviously better than the other four air delivery methods.Secondly,this paper built up the air conditioning system energy consumption model under five different kinds of air supply methods and analyzes the energy consumption of the various parts of the air conditioning system.The results show that the energy consumption of the air conditioning system using the two-side up-return and down-supply air delivery method is the lowest,and it can save energy 11%,8%,21%and 2.7%,respectively.Finally,in this paper,a commercial complex in Hengqin was used to as an example to analysis the LCC of air conditioning system.The LCC of four different types of air delivery methods were researched in this paper.The results show that ceiling-return and down-supply is the worst air delivery method both in initial investment and life cycle cost performance,while the two-side up-return and down-supply air delivery method is superior to other method both in initial investment and life cycle costs.The research results of this paper provide the guidance for the choice of air delivery mode in large space and have a guiding value for the practical engineering applications.But further research is also needed in this direction too.
