As the global supply situation of energy is getting intense,nuclear power generation once again draws attention of all countries to satisfy the soaring power demand and protect the environment.AP1000,the 3rd generation of advanced pressurized water reactor technology with improved safety,simplified design and reduced construction quantity compared with the 2nd generation,has become the prevailing trend for future nuclear power.The construction of AP1000 nuclear power station applies advanced process,open-top method for civil and installation and modularization which presents higher requirements for management over civil and installation.It has become a critical challenge that how we control each unit and field for rational,order and precise connection to improve management efficiency.To solve the above issues,the project adopts work breakdown structure(WBS for short)to split up the work,partitions the rational minimum construction unit and introduces construction work package management procedure for overall control of the project.WBS can become an effective management tool only when it is divided into optimum feasible units which is the primary element of WBS.The paper,as per the work packages under contract of AP1000 nuclear power project,combines WBS level and its construction characteristics of contract work packages,analyzes the project's breakdown structure one by one,introduces the concept of construction work package and realizes the overall control of construction for fulfillment of construction objective.
