With the rapid development of social economy, the continuous increase of people's demand and the great progress of national science and technology, nuclear power development have gradually turned into one core business of our country.AP1000 is a new generation of safe, environmental, economic and efficient nuclear power technology, which adopts passive security system. Our country has introduced AP1000 technology and is building the first reactor around the world. But there is a large amount of large-scale lifting work and cross constructions due to the modular construction and parallel working of AP1000 reactor, which increased the construction difficulty and brought great risks and challenges to construction.Additionally, the third generation of nuclear power plant building is still at the stage of first exploration and practice, and there is no relevant experience for reference.AP1000 nuclear power plant building belongs to building construction industry which is a high-risk industry with large project scale and wide range of construction scope. There are many risky operations and unstable factors or potential sources of danger such as labor, machine, material and environment in the process of construction and have a large number of cross constructions, aerial operations,constructions in deep foundation pit and confined space, mechanical equipment and materials on construction site. If the safety management has any mistake, incident or accident may happen. Incident or accident will not only cause casualty and property loss, but also prolong the construction nuclear power plant construction period. In severe cases, even the development strategy programming of nuclear power plant will be impacted.Mechanical equipment for building construction can greatly shorten the construction period, expedite construction progress and increase work efficiency to a certain degree, so large lifting machinery equipment is widely used in the building of nuclear power plant. To ensure the safe and successful development of nuclear power plant building, the research on the safety management of tower cranes for nuclear power plant building is particularly necessary and urgent.In this paper, the safety risks in the process of tower crane installation, use,maintenance and dismantlement are analyzed systematically from the aspects such as quality and test of tower crane, and security risk prevention management measures areproposed based on the current safety management situation of machinery equipments for nuclear power plant building to further strengthen equipment management and ensure the production safety on construction site.
