With the development and wide application of information technology in construction industry,BIM technology has become the most widely used and effective engineering management means in developed countries.This has guided the direction of development for the technological upgrading and transformation of China's construction industry.Therefore,it is imperative for China's construction projects to introduce BIM technology into project management.BIM brings new opportunities for innovating the methods of construction project schedule management.The function of BIM technology to improve the level of project schedule management is embodied in the two stages of design and construction.At present,the popularization and application of BIM technology in China has just started,and the application of BIM is still limited to the design stage.Therefore,the application emphasis of BIM should be changed from design stage to construction stage,especially construction schedule management.This paper studies the progress management of construction projects based on BIM technology,including the preparation and optimization of progress plans,progress tracking and control,which has certain theoretical value,and has practical significance for the expansion and deepening implementation of BIM functions.This paper focused on the application of BIM in construction progress management.Firstly,the paper expounded the research background and significance of BIM schedule management of construction engineering,the research trends of BIM schedule management at home and abroad,and the research ideas of the paper.Secondly,the paper deeply studied the modern project schedule management theory and BIM theory,compared the mainstream methods and tools of schedule management,analysed the characteristics of BIM technology and its application value in schedule management,and introduces the commonly used BIM software.Then the paper studied the BIM-based process management method,combs the application process,including schedule optimization,schedule information tracking and schedule control,in which the key chain method is introduced.After completing the method research,this paper demonstrated the research through the application of BIM schedule management system in actual cases.The research results are as follows: Firstly,the paper establishes the application route of BIM-based project schedule management,and optimizes the process of BIM-based model creation,schedule planning and schedule tracking control.Secondly,it realizes the expansion of BIM software application in engineering.It deeply studies the method of schedule management by using Revit,Project and Navisworks software.Based on the above software,a 4D model for schedule management is created,and the modeling process is clearly sorted out,and the depth of the model is clarified.Thirdly,the critical chain method is applied to BIM schedule optimization,which achieves the further reduction of the construction period,and puts forward some suggestions for improvement of BIM schedule control based on the critical chain method.
