Through the study of Berlin s urban context,IBA1987 s operation mode and concept,and rebuilding cases,this paper comprehensively analyses the social and historical background and specific process of Berlin's IBA1987's urban renewal from the point to point,which provides a reference and comparative urban case for urban renewal in China.As an important urban renewal practice,Berlin has retained a large amount of information about IBA1987,including official documents,exhibition manuals,meeting minutes,and external comments.At the same time,many Western scholars have published their own works and conducted in-depth research on them.China's academic circles have also carried out a certain amount of research,but in terms of content,they are mostly descriptions and introductions of construction projects.This resulted in a large amount of local interpretation and fragmentation information,which hindered us from forming a comprehensive and comprehensive understanding and analysis of IBA1987.This paper selects urban tradition,institutional design and architectural projects as the research theme,trying to comb the IBA1987 from a comprehensive perspective—from city to architecture,from tradition to reconstruction—and explores the following aspects:1.Combing the history of Berlin's urban construction:the history of Berlin's urban construction and the urbanity and architecture of Berlin's residences;the tradition of Berlin's architectural expo in different periods.A typological interpretation of the most important form of Berlin's urban housing,the Mietskaserne.The rental housing is the most important urban residential prototype in the IBA1987 reconstruction project.Through the collation of relevant historical information,it is intended to examine IBA1987 within the context of urban tradition.2.Investigate the system design and reconstruction renewal concept of IBA1987.The architectural exhibition is a relatively unfamiliar form of urban construction for us.Many studies have taken it over and ignore the fundamental role played by institutional design.Only by linking those excellent reconstruction projects with the institutional design of IBA1987,it is possible to understand the complex social processes behind the physical form and the institutional context for restoring urban ideas.3.Select four representative projects with representativeness and popularity for intensive reading,which involves collecting complete case data,organizing committee decision-making,design competition,construction process,etc.,on the basis of which how the specific project is successfully implemented"critical reconstruction."Through the study of Berlin city context,IBA1987 operation mode and concept,and reconstruction case,this paper comprehensively analyzes the social and historical background and specific process links of Berlin IBA1987 urban renewal,providing a platform for urban renewal in China.A city case that can be used for reference and comparison.The whole thesis contains about 60 000 words,125 pictures and charts.
