As a force-transmitting member of the structural support,the steel column base is one of the main factors determining the structural bearing capacity and one of the important joints of the structural system.The embedded type column base and the semi-embedded type column base are the two most commonly used column base joints.However,there are few studies on steel column base joints in China.Therefore,in multi-story steel structure buildings,the study of steel column feet is particularly important.Based on a project in Lijiang,Yunnan Province,there is an improved steel column base joint with 100mm slots on each side of box-shaped column proposed in this paper.Two models of embedded type column base and the semi-embedded type column base were established through ABAQUS and non-linear finite element analysis under the action of monotonic loading.Author found the improved steel column base can increases the area of confined concrete.The steel column hole can be worn with steel bars,and the bottom plate is used to install anchor bolts,which reduces the floor area,thus greatly improving the bearing capacity and deformation performance of the steel column.The research results will provide reference for the design and application of improved steel column base and will be applied to the field of civil engineering.This paper has done relevant research work in the following aspects.(1)This paper reviews the research status of embedded type column base and the semi-embedded type column base at home and abroad,and summarizes the related analysis of the force transmission analysis and calculation formulas of relevant norms.(2)By ABAQUS and establish the embedded type column base and the semi-embedded type column base models,compare the test results and the finite element results to verify the feasibility of the model.The test results are in good agreement with the finite element results,which proves that the selection of the model and parameters is reasonable.(3)Numerical simulation analysis of the model is carried out to analyze the stress variation,load-displacement curve,bending moment curve and failure mechanism of the improved steel column base under monotonic loading.Finally,the variable parameter analysis of single variable is carried out to study the influence of various parameters on the mechanical performance of the embedded type column base and the semi-embedded type column base and to propose design suggestions.(4)Using parametric comparison analysis,theoretical formula and numerical simulation to discuss the demarcation line between embedded type column base and semi-embedded type column base.
