Ancient villages have rich historical and cultural values. With the rapid development of modern economy and society, the ancient villages in many areas have been greatly affected by the external environment, facing the transformation and disappearance of culture,A lot of historical information has gradually lost its originality, and its spatial characteristics are difficult to be excavated and restored.Protecting the ancient villages is the demand of the modern era.The rural revitalization strategy has laid a solid foundation for the protection and development of ancient villages.Jiangxi is a province with diverse cultural clusters,It has gradually formed a region with the culture of gan as the core and coexisting with other cultures,Therefore, diverse cultures and folk customs have created various ancient villages,Therefore, diverse cultures and folklore have created various ancient villages, and the cultural characteristics, traditional philosophical thoughts and the significance of contemporary humanistic spirits represented by these ancient villages need to be promoted. The research in this paper is divided into two parts: one is to analyze the location characteristics of 175 traditional villages selected by Jiangxi into the national traditional villages list according to the historical time series, and to explore the reasons and texture of the differences. The second is the two ancient villages in the typical cultural area(Luling Culture and Timtonese Culture).By means of GIS spatial analysis and spatial syntax analysis, the commonalities and differences in the traditional core space form are explored, and the micro-space characteristics of the ancient villages are quantitatively described by numerical quantification.Research results:(1)The existing ancient villages in Jiangxi Province are based on the Song and Ming dynasties. The concentration of the gathering is consistent with the emblem culture of the northeastern part of Jiangxi, the Luling Culture in central Jiangxi, the Timtonese Culture in central and eastern Jiangxi and Hakka Culture area center in southern Jiangxi. The site selection of the village shows the overall movement law of “from north to south, from the original to the ridge, from the shackles to the hidden”;The reason is related to the historical southwardization of the national economic and cultural center, the low-latitude war,the history of population migration, the competition for land use,and the prevailing customs of feng shui in Jiangxi.(2)There are some similarities between the two ancient villages in the public space elements. The villages focus on shrines, academies, temples and other shrines and patriarchal affairs centers. The life type center and the core of political affairs have a high degree of overlap. At the same time, the representative dwellings of the two villages and the interior space of the central ancestral hall have different topological features and weak regularity. It can be seen that there is greater autonomy in the construction of specific private space.(3)The spatial axis of of Meibi village in Lulingis deep and complex, and the space control of the center ancestral hall is slightly weak, showing the weak planning of the whole village construction. The scale of Linchuan Zhuqiao village is slightly smaller, the depth of the axis in the village is lower, the accessibility is strong, and the core of the ancestral hall is prominent, which basically controls the activity axis of the whole village, indicating that the village has obvious planning ideas for ancient villages.Through various scales and quantitative analysis, the thesis provides reference for the era information, cultural context and the traditional value of the ancient villages in Jiangxi. It provides a richer narrative for Jiangxi to promote the revitalization of ancient villages that retain “homesickness” and to build “cultural self-confidence”.
