Research And Simulation On Flight Procedures Optimal Design Of Airports In Mountainous Regions

The flight procedures design,especially airports in mountainous regions usually encounters many difficulties,such as the mountain terrain obstacles in the terminal area,the heavy workload and low efficiency of manual flight procedures calculation.In this study,the flight procedures design and simulation of airports in mountainous regions is carried out based on MATLAB programming,then use three evaluation models of noise impact,fuel consumption and single-engine climbing performance to optimize the procedures which designed.Firstly,we should visualize and rasterize the mountainous airport's terrain by steps as follow: The first step,Collecting Equidistant points according to the airport terrain map,the more points collected,the higher accuracy of the terrain simulation;The second step,by comparing cubic spline interpolation with bi-cubic B-spline interpolation,select the better accuracy and smoothness interpolation algorithm to visualize the three-dimensional terrain by MATLAB programming;The third step,use cellular automaton model to deal with the terrain,rasterize the terrain to extract the altitude data matrix of the terrain;The fourth step is to set the next waypoint of each leg with the minimum stabilization distance according to DOC8168 operation specification.Secondly,select the A~* path optimization algorithm as the core algorithm of flight procedures design,and improve the A~* path optimization algorithm to satisfy with the DOC8168 operation specification.At last,embed the improved A~* algorithm in the rasterized terrain,by the simulation of MATLAB programming,we can obtain several visualized arrival and departure procedures.Finally,according to the BADA(Based Of Aircraft Data,BADA)noise and fuel evaluation model and the single-engine performance evaluation software,we can select the optimal arrival and departure flight procedures.In this study,we take the flight procedures design optimization program of Mangshi airport in Yunnan mountainous area as an example.Based on the above research methods,simulate and design several flight procedures of the airport.Then,we can further evaluate and optimize each flight procedure by noise impact,fuel consumption and single-engine climb performance.The results show that the optimized flight procedures is consistent with the results of manual design and meet the requirements of flight procedure design.Based on the previous study,it can provide reliable design ideas for mountain airport flight procedures design,thereby reducing workload and improving work efficiency.
