Developing green building with reduced energy consumption becomes generally one of the main tasks for building engineering.This paper takes some low buildings in a university in Zhengzhou as examples to evaluate the wind environment of the buildings with different plane layouts and roof forms by using computational fluid dynamics software complying with the requirements of "Green Building Evaluation Standard".Especially,results under actual measurements validate results of computational fluid dynamics simulating for the wind environment.Firstly,literatures with keyword of architectural wind environment are collected to analyze characteristics and influencing factors of building wind environment.Secondly,AutoCAD software and Google Sketchup software are used to build a physical model imported into Phoenics software to simulate the wind environment.The results show that:(1)the diagonal building layout is scored the best value for wind environment in summer because its comfort zone of pedestrian height of diagonal building layout accounts for 85%,and the comprehensive wind environment assessment score is 16.90.(2)the determinant building layout is the best type for wind environment in winter with the assessment score of 13.66.(3)the diagonal building layout may be comprehensively the best type with the score of 28.95 in all three types.(4)The scores for wind environment comprehensive evaluation of 0°,30° and 60° slope roof are 7.30,10.6 and 8.30,respectively.The wind environment comprehensive evaluation score of 30 degree sloping roof building is the best one.(5)The layout of the planar building of the project to be built should be mainly diagonal,and the suitable slope of the roof should be 30°.This study focus on interdisciplinary research,which is of the combination of Architecture and Building Engineering,and uses effective architectural design methods to avoid adverse wind effects on people in the early stage of architectural design.It can be conclude that the method in this study may contribute to serve the future development of green buildings.
