There is a long history of the classical gardens in Jiangnan region,which is anmagnificent part of the Chinese classical garden.The unique characters of the Jiangnan region,and even the Chinese region,is generally lost in the process of the globalization.Besides,the traditional function and scale preference is more and more conflict with the modern life.The inheritance of the character of the classical garden is a universal problem which faces to all the designers.In this thesis,the traditional design language in the Jiangnan gardens is researched,and the strategy of the inheritance and representation is also discussed.The new development of the Suzhou Museum is taken as an example to explain the application of the strategy.The five main parts are as following.1.IntroductionThe background,goals and purpose are presented.The research is focus on the sorting the history and the current condition of the classical garden,and base on this result to find a resolution of the succession.Also,the research frame is raised.2.Analysis and ConcludeThree focal points are analyzed in this part,the goal,the purpose are the design language of the classical gardens in Jiangnan region.The organization of the space system is conclude in the end.3.SuggestionA series of the strategy of the inheritance and the representation is brought forward.The specialplanning of the Jiangnan Garden could be succeeded in three ways,the design principle,the design language and the design process.The conflicts of the traditional garden type applying in the modern landscape is discussed and attempted to resolved in this part.4.Case StudyThe case of the new development of the Suzhou Museum is analyzed.5.ConclusionThe conclusion is presented.Also,some problems are left for further discussion.
