Research On FAW-VW EA211 Engine Assemble-Line Quality Management Improvement

As a pillar industry of the national economy,the automobile industry.is the symbol of the country’s manufacturing strength,Accelerating the transformation of China from a big manufacturing country to a strong manufacturing country is the strategic plan made by the Party and the government in the new era.Quality is the unremitting pursuit of human society.To accomplish its mission,Chinese automobiles must attach equal importance to quality and lay a solid foundation for quality.China’s automotive industry has a large market,with a total sales of 28.08 million vehicles in 2018.Ten major brands have a market share of 89.2%.Faw-Volkswagen has formulated a series of new strategic objectives for 2025,including promoting enterprises to be flexible,efficient and modern,enhancing market share,improving product quality,building industry-leading brand power,promoting the rapid development of new energy vehicles,entering the mobile travel field,achieving 100% vehicle network pre-loading rate,and creating a sustainable development that can support the company’s entire value chain.Systematic capabilities,etc.,lead the company’s all-round development.The quality survey report of new cars in 2017 shows that the quality of new cars of Volkswagen brand ranks low.Overall,the proportion of engine quality problems is relatively low(less than 10%),but complaints are relatively consistent.Although in recent years,with its excellent design and manufacturing technology,EA211 engine complaints rate of thousands of after-sales cars is continuously improving,but the quality improvement space and potential is still very large,far from meeting customer expectations.Based on the analysis of the existing quality management strategies and solutions of FAW-Volkswagen EA211 engine assembly line to deal with the large-scale intensive production,combined with the analysis and improvement of the actual quality problems complained by internal and external customers at the two levels of technology and management solutions,the forward-looking technology and solutions of online quality management in engine assembly process are intensively studied.Based on the current management strategy of "open source,reduce expenditure,improve quality and increase efficiency",this paper studies the quality management improvement scheme under low cost.In the process of engine assembly,hundreds of bolt tightening data,a large number of tightening data and test data will be generated.Faced with a large amount of production information,in order to fully realize the functions of assembly and test data acquisition and timely analysis,technical means must be effectively supported.The on-line quality management scheme follows the principle of synchronous manufacturing of high-quality products,and adopts the method of on-line(local work station)to solve the problem in the production of engines,so as to improve the qualified rate of one-time submission inspection of engines and reduce the proportion of quality defects found in the inspection and testing links of the whole machine,thereby reducing the repairing of the whole machine and reducing the quality cost.The core idea of this scheme is to discover the quality risk in the process of operation in time,reduce the complexity and cost of repairing,and avoid the quality defects found by testing only when the whole machine is finished or near the completion state.It changed the former scheme of concentrating on a few test stations to scatter the assembly process in each station,which made it more direct and efficient to find quality problems,and also reduced the difficulty and detection requirement of defect identification technology in the whole machine test.Based on the present situation of FAW Volkswagen’s product production and marketing,the style and principle of quality assurance measures are determined: under the condition of little increase in investment,the weak links in the existing assembly process can be improved by means of skillful technical means of management promotion and low cost,such as strengthening the quality awareness of operators and quality assurance skills training,optimizing the ability of information management system to collect and process quality information.Cooperate with efficient error-proof application and targeted appearance acceptance strategy for final inspection offline.We believe that through the research on quality management improvement of advanced engine assembly line at home and abroad,we can find the method and direction of quality management suitable for FAW Volkswagen’s own development needs,and through the unremitting efforts of quality people,we will be closer to the quality goal of zero defect.
