In the background of global economic integration,with the proposal of "made in China 2025",China has witnessed the rapid development of science and technology,the increasingly living standards of resident.The output and sales volume of the automobile industry have been increasing year by year.From 2000 to 2018,auto industry has gradually stepped into the transition period from the growth period and become more and more mature.At present,the market structure of the automobile industry is in the status of pyramid,the whole vehicle factory is at the top position and parts supply is at the bottom.The development of the vehicle industry drives the development of the parts industry.At the same time,the parts companies also provide technical and market support for the vehicle factories,which influence and restrict each other.Vehicle market competition is increasingly fierce,who can quickly,efficiently and high-quality finish the product development,who will occupy the market,and become the winners.If the parts companies want to cope with the situation,requires them to actively analyze the new product development project management process,then improve and solve problems,successfully cope with demand for new product development from OEMs:shorter cycle,more and more high quality requirements,less and less profit space.Focusing on the core issue of new product development project management of auto parts companies,this paper first describes the research background and significance as well as the current situation of relevant research at domestic and abroad.Literature analysis and case analysis are adopted in this paper.Base on the theories of project management and process reengineering.Then,the original single APQP process is analyzed for actual situation of FH Company’s new product development project management process.Original process is not able to match with different customers,project milestone release problem,personnel responsibilities are fuzzy,document management,and other problems were analyzed,and then puts forward improvement proposals,including the process reengineering,the introduction of HPDS new product development project management process,the process of organizational structure reconstruction,the establishment of the responsibility matrix,and review stage,events,"door" review system,use the management tools,such as product data management(PDM)data management system to achieve standardization of management,efficient.Finally,the paper elaborates on the effect of the implementation of the improvement proposals,including the improvement of customer satisfaction,the improvement of team cooperation efficiency,and the improvement of data document efficiency.Through the study of this paper,can be conducive to the auto parts industry product development project management level of improvement;It is beneficial to product development management and achievement transformation.Improving product quality and work quality of new product development,It can be applied for the other parts companies.
