Under the background of the integration of travel and tourism,the short-distance surrounding self-driving with emphasis on leisure and holiday travel is showing high-frequency trends.For example,leisure,health,ecology,culture and other connotation of characteristic tourism products gradually enter the half-hour road service facilities around the city ring.Road service facilities are no longer just“passing points”on the road,and gradually become the“destination”for many driver.With the gradual improvement of China's road network,the vigorous development of tourism,and the changes in the needs of road users,road service facilities have experienced phenomena such as parking congestion or parking difficulties,toilet shortage,shopping queues,etc.And road service facilities are gradually unable to meet the needs of the use of passengers,especially in the holidays,showing the problem of insufficient vehicle capacity and traffic-clogged.As an important auxiliary facility of highways,road service facilities play a significant role in the level of road service services.And the scale of service facilities and traffic organization affect internal function allocation and turnover efficiency,which have a further effect on experience of the passengers and the evaluation of the service quality.These problems currently existing in the service facilities seriously restrict their own development.Through research,this paper classified highway service facilities based on tourism perspective,summarized the functional configuration and layout of service facilities,classified and summarized expansion functions according to functional attributes;based on service facility function configuration and functional partition.The SPSS software was used to analyze the unilateral scale data of the service facilities,and the size ratio of different regions was obtained.The methods for determining the size of the three functional regions were summarized,and the main influencing factors for the scale of the expanded functional areas were analyzed.Based on the functional partitions and layout patterns of service facilities,the current situation of traffic organization in service facilities were analyzed.Optimize the traffic organization plan for the traffic characteristics of different functional areas was raised.And traffic organization countermeasures for special situations such as extreme weather,natural disasters,and holiday peak travels were proposed.Finally,Longxi River Service Area as an example proved that the scale is more suitable and proposed the corresponding traffic organization plan.According to the research in this paper,the road service facilities can be divided into three types based on the tourism perspective:product-type service facilities,supporting service facilities and basic service facilities.According to the functional configuration and location of service facilities,one-sided service facilities can be divided into three areas:square and parking area,main service area and supporting facilities area.For product-type service facilities,there are also extended function areas.The layout and characteristics of road service facilities are summarized.In China,79.49%of highway service facilities adopts an outward-oriented layout,and78.12%of gas stations are deployed at the exit.Most of reconstructed service facilities adopt a mid-mounted layout.The overall scale of 70.8%of unilateral service facilities is between 20000 m~2 and 75000 m~2 and 6%of service facilities have set up an expansion function.The proportion of the scale of the different types of service facilities and the proportion of the main design functions in the single-sided scale were calculated by mathematical statistical analysis.Based on the calculation of service traffic volume and service passenger flow,the method of determining the scale of the three functional areas of the square and parking lot area,the main service area and the auxiliary facility and its detailed calculation model were summarized.What's more,the service turnover rate was subdivided into parking turnover rate,toilet turnover rate and meal turnover rate,and the principle of expanding the functional area size was raised.Under abnormal conditions,the traffic organization of highway service facilities should be able to control the total amount of transportation,optimize internal organization and improve the exit rate.In the design and layout of the service facilities,the traffic organization can be optimized in advance by optimizing the marking lines,using reasonable parking angles,increasing the number of parking spaces,color parking spaces,and adding a second toilet.The appropriate scale of highway service facilities and comfortable transportation organization design play an important role in the overall planning and design of service facilities.The research results can provide useful suggestions for the planning and designing of service facilities,which is conducive to the construction of highway service facilities and benign development of operation.
