Research On The Impact Of High-speed Railway On Jiangxi Tourism Development

The opening of high-speed railway will greatly reduce traffic time between the local and surrounding areas,make it better integrated into the surrounding transport network,and bring more passengers to the local.The prosperity of tourism can not be separated from sufficient passenger flow,so high-speed railway is considered to be able to promote the development of regional tourism.Theoretically,the impact of high-speed railway on tourism industry is indirect.High-speed railway will improve regional accessibility and save the time of tourism transportation,at the same time,it will reduce the cost of human,capital,technology and other elements of tourism industry,which will make different elements produce combined effect at the point with location advantage,then indirectly affect the spatial structure and the development of tourism.This paper is based on the city-level panel data of Jiangxi Province from 2004 to 2017,using weighted average travel time,spatial gini coefficient and econometric model to test the trend of tourism development,accessibility and the combined effect of tourism industry in Jiangxi Province,as well as the impact of high-speed railway on the economic effect,in order to verify the theoretical mechanism proposed in this paper,and to explore how the development of Jiangxi tourism can be further developed under the construction of the national railway network.The conclusions are as followings: First of all,high-speed railway has promoted the development and perfection of tourism in Jiangxi Province.Secondly,high-speed railway can effectively enhance the regional accessibility of cities,shorten the spatial and temporal distance between Jiangxi Province and other economic centers,then accelerate interregional population flow and meet the needs of people’s cross-city tourism consumption in Jiangxi Province.High-speed railway can promote the accessibility of both cities along and not along,but it has a greater role in promoting urban accessibility along the route,therefore,high-speed railway will change the location advantages of Jiangxi Province.Thirdly,the opening of high-speed railway promotes the combined effect of tourism industry in Jiangxi Province.On the one hand,the combined effect of transportation,warehousing and postal industry,as well as accommodation and catering industry has increased significantly.On the other hand,in various cities in Jiangxi Province,the increase in the combined effect of Nanchang City and Xinyu City is the most obvious,reflecting the imbalance of the spatial distribution of tourism industry in Jiangxi.Finally,the improvement of accessibility has a significant positive impact on Jiangxi’s tourism,which mainly comes from the improvement of accessibility between Jiangxi Province and the urban agglomerations of Yangtze River.
