Delay Issues Of Project Planning In M5 Highway Project Of Pakistan

Highway construction Industry is playing an important role in improving Pakistan’s economy.The construction industry of Pakistan is facing issues related delays in project planning especially in highways projects.The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the delay issues of project planning in M5 Highway Project of Pakistan.To find out the impact of factors which effects the project performance consequently lead to project delay.Data was collected from 132 respondents those are working on M5 highway project through questionnaire and respondents were asked about factors which cause delay in M5 highway project.The results were analyzed by using SPSS.The results of this study indicated that there is positive and significant association between employees’related delay and labor related delay.Further,results also indicated that design related delay has insignificant impact on project delay.This research will help to overcome the causes of delays and some suggestions are given for reducing delay issues in M5 highway project in Pakistan.By these suggestions the delay in project planning in M5 highway project can be alleviated.
