Research On The Construction Technology And Practice Of Pingtan Traditional Stone Dwellings From The Perspective Of Tectonic

Pingtan island is located in the east of Fujian province,and across the sea from Taiwan.lt’s main land,Haitan island,is the largest island in Fujian province and the fifth largest island in China.In August 2016,the state council approved that Pingtan would plan to build an international tourism island.As traditional residence of Pingtan,Stone dwellings have attracted extensive attention due to it’s unique features and tourism prospects.Stone dwellings have become a new visiting card of Pingtan.In this context,Stone dwellings have ushered the upsurge of renovation,it’s also imminently to survey and summarize construction system of Pingtan Stone dwellings.In this paper,the author focuse on the investigation and arrangement of Stone dwellings’ construction technology,and achieves the three goals.In the first,this paper records the precious information of ancestors’ wisdom;Second,this paper explores the logic behind the construction technologies.Third,from the perspective of Tectonic theories,this paper not only explains the internal mechanism of the Stone dwellings’characteristics,but also reveals the construction essence of dwellings.The conclusion will be applied to the conservation and renewal of Stone dwellings and settlements.It will also become a good reference for the conservation research of traditional dwellings in other areas.There were five parts in the research.Firstly?this paper synthesizes the theories of Tectonic and the research on Stone dwellings.According to the research background and methods,the first part has proposed the objectives and significances of this research.Secongly,with the field investigation,this part has gone into the precise meaning of Pingtan’s background,Stone dwellings’ forming reasons,settlement site and types.Thirdly,by interviewing local craftsmen and investigating Stone dwellings settlements,the construction technology of Stone dwellings were explored in detail and made a complete summary.Fourthly,combined with the Tectonic theory,this part compares the construction technology of Pingtan Stone dwellings with other regions in China,and explores the regional factors behind the construction technologies.The final part has summarized the characteristics of Stone dwellings’,construction technologise,and analyzed the adaptability of construction technologies,and put forward the alteration strategies of Stone dwellings.
