The essence of college campus is the space carrier of communicative behavior.In order to meet the fit between space and communication activities,we have been continuously shapingthe multi-level public space that adapts to the behavioral pattern of educational groups.However,the rapid development of the current era has made the original single function of the universityunsatisfactory.The incompatibility of the public space in university to the education diversification,the limitations about site,and richness of the use of the population level,variouschanges have brought challenges to the campus planning and construction.In the past,simply meeting the outdoor activities' function of educational groups often forgot themoderate flexibility about public space and functionality.Based on the current problems,this paper integrates the elastic design into the design system of the public space of universities,and fully considers the uncertainties,inclusiveness and the future applicability in the design of public space.Integrating the elastic design concept into the design planning,this paper discusses the evolution and practice summary of the public activity space and the elastic design.On the basis of these theories,it is proposed that the public space of the university needs to be combined with the elastic design to solve the various contradictions at present.challenge.The public space of colleges and universities also has applicability to the elastic design,and the application research of the public space elasticity design of colleges and universities is analyzed with concrete examples.And as an effective basis and experience for the design of public space in colleges and universities in the future...
