A Study On Space Fabric Of Beijing Longfu Temple Area

With the accelerated process of urbanization,many cities in China enter the development period.Such cities in the economic growth,population surge at the same time,the central area is facing many problems,such as the shortage of land,mixed architecture style,unreasonable land acquisition,traffic jam,lack of open space in the city,non-continuous sidewalks.The urban spatial texture is a description of the space form and characteristics of the streets,squares,buildings,parks and other places which make up the city.And its evolution is influenced by many factors such as the times,nature,economy,policy and geographical nature.Therefore,the study of the urban spatial texture is particularly necessary for urban optimization.This paper takes the present situation of old urban space texture and the difficulty of urban renovation as the research background.The spatial texture of Longfu Temple area in Dongcheng District of Beijing is the object of study,and the 1km * 1km area centered on Longfu Temple is research area.Then the distribution of the space texture in this area,size,functional properties,the situation issues are carefully studied.Firstly,the paper studies the style of old town an d urban renewal policy in Beijing in recent years,then briefly introduced the classification and distribution of typical spatial texture in this area,and sorted out the historical node of the spatial texture and traditional temple culture in this area.Secondly,this paper took data collection,field trips and detailed analysis as means of research in the spatial texture of this area.According to the difference in types of space,the research divided the typical spatial texture of Long Fu Temple Area int o three categories-square space texture,street space texture and architectural space Texture.Next,through analyzing the space characteristics,size,space density,architectural forms and other aspects,its advantages and disadvantages were discussed.Finally,based on the excellent design of the suburban commercial district in China and abroad,the research results of old town renovation and the research on the spatial texture of the area of Longfu Temple in Beijing,the macro-renovation strategy and micro-update method for the spatial optimization and vitality construction of this area are proposed.
