At present,Fault location technology is becoming more and more important in the intelligent development of power system.In order to meet the power system in the low-power fault indicator precise positioning needs,This paper proposes a method to accurately measure the arrival time of grid fault based on the method of double-end traveling wave positioning.The method has high accuracy and low power consumption,which improves the positioning accuracy of power system fault location technology and is of great significance in practical application.In this paper,the principle of double-ended traveling wave is first discussed.Then the key indexes that influence the positioning accuracy are analyzed.And introduced several methods to improve the positioning accuracy according to the existing literature.Then,based on the research background and application requirements of this paper,an accurate measurement method of fault pulse arrival time is proposed and put forward.The method utilizes a GPS receiver with a low power mode and a local active crystal to form a time synchronization system.When the transmission line fails,the timer is used to capture the rising or falling edge signal from the output of the fault pulse detection circuit While the GPS receiver from the low-power mode to wake up.Wait for the GPS receiver to output a PPS stable after recording a standard time,and then through the time reversal method to calculate the arrival time of the fault pulse.Designed a set of low-power fault indicators to meet the precise positioning needs of the positioning module.This article combines the software and hardware to achieve a specific circuit.Designed a set of low-power fault indicators to meet the precise positioning needs of the positioning module.And the module is validated and analyzed.Finally,the module is applied to the actual fault indicator for the test run.The results show that the method has better time synchronization accuracy than 100ns,the power at normal operation is about 165mW.The module meets the requirements of low-power applications,has a certain practical value.At the same time,the application of fault traveling wave positioning technology in the power grid has a bright application prospect.
