In recent years,ultrasound imaging system,due to its portability,real time,efficient feature,has been a tremendous development.Beside,it has been widely used in medical imaging with the imaging quality of ultrasound imaging system being improved quickly.With the rapid development of electronic and computer technology,the integration level of chip and the ability of processing have made much progress.Owning the feature of flexible,eonvenient,affordable and versatile,portable ultrasound imaging systems has become more and more popular and has been a trend.In order to following this trend,an ultrasound imaging system based on FPGA and ARM architecture is presented in this paper.Owing to the entire ultrasound system is relatively large;the paper is mainly focused on realizing the design of two parts.One part is the data communications between the FPGA and ARM,and the other part is the data reconstruction interface.In the design of ultrasound imaging system,we proposed schematic design of an ultrasound imaging system,which consists of the analog front-end data acquisition module,FPGA control module,ARM processor and image display module.Schematic introduction of each module is included in the paper.In contrast with the Protocols of Serial Interface,the communication protocol uses SPI communication protocol to connect ARM processor and FPGA control module.In implementation of the communication protocol,we designed and constructed the main modules of SPI logical part.We give work flowchart and schematic introduction of each module.The protocols of communication for ARM and FPGA are developed to ensure the reliability of communication.In the realization of interface,Android studio is used to design and realized the APP which can be operation and display.Besides,draw the interactive interface for person.Android OpenGL ES is used to complete the operation of the buffer,the memory,the texture mapping and the display for the data received from FPGA.At the last period,test the whole ultrasound imaging system and prove that the system is effective and feasible.
