In recent years,the continuous development of the vehicle information system has greatly enriched the driver's driving experience,however,the vehicle information system also occupies the cognitive resources of the driver in varying degrees,and it is easy to cause the driving distraction.In the complex information system,how to manage the complexity of the information effectively and improve the safety of driving furtherly have become key problems to be solved in the vehicle information system.At present,the new type of interactive mode that the mix of AR(augmented reality technology)and HUD(head-up display technology)has received plenty of attention in the vehicle information system.When the vehicle information overlies to the real driving scene,it is able to meet the complex task requirements and improve the driving safety.Therefore,the research on the driving behavior of driving assistance system is helpful to manage the complexity of the vehicle information system effectively,improve driving safety,and it is beneficial for the future development.(1)In order to figure out the typical user needs of the AR-HUD driver assistance system,the driving situation is studied based on the qualitative research method,such as car following investigation and interview.Meanwhile,the interface of the system is designed,the information is defined,the modules is structured,and the visual symbols is designed.(2)The dynamic video method is selected as the experimental method,the experiments in five typical dangerous driving situations under two weather conditions in day and night are carried out with the help of the eye movement instrument.(3)Mathematical statistics methods,such as descriptive statistics,box line graph,line graph,non-parametric test are used to analyze the experimental results.The effect of the system on the eye movement and dangerous reaction time of drivers are obtained.In order to discuss the effectiveness of the system on improving the subjective evaluation of testers under dangerous driving situations,an evaluation index system is established based on analytic hierarchy process.Meanwhile,based on Likert scale,the subjective evaluation of the AR-HUD driving assistance system is obtained by different testers before and after the experiment.The experimental results show that,in the field of eye movement,the AR-HUD driving assistance system can increase the attention in the area of interest significantly,reduce the difficulties of dealing with dangerous driving situation information,and decrease the cognitive load.In the field of risk reaction time,the AR-HUD driving assistance system can significantly decrease the recognition time of drivers under dangerous driving situations,therefore,drivers can react more quickly.These experimental results show that driver's driving behavior is improved by using the AR-HUD driving assistance system,and the effect at night is better than the day.In this study,the effect of AR-HUD on improving driving safety and driving behavior is verified,which is helpful to solve the problems the vehicle information system faced with,and it provides a new direction of the vehicle information system in the future.
