The Space Design Of High Speed Train Based On Environmental Behavior Science

With the improvement of people's living standards and the popularity of high-speed railway lines,more and more people choose the high-speed train for cross-city travelling,because of its punctuality and high safety.80% of cities in China will be covered until the year 2020,with the help of "eight vertical and eight horizontal" government plan.It should be admitted that the technology has achieved great progress in China,however,not so much attention has been paid to internal space design.The existing design is mostly based on traditional design principle,which optimized chairs,bathroom,and so on.The environmental behavior theory is focused on human-behavior-environment interrelationship,which is mostly used in architectural design.In the present study,the author considers whether the environmental behavior theory could be used in the design for internal space optimization of high-speed train.The traditional design principle is challenged,while the human behavior and psychological needs will be emphasized.Then,the internal space of high-speed train will be studied and optimized.At first,the current status of internal space of high-speed train and the development of the environmental behavior theory are reviewed,while the possibility of utilizing environmental behavior theory for designing internal space of high-speed train is analyzed.Secondly,three aspects are studied in detail,including passenger constitution,behavior & requirements,and behavior regularity & space.Thirdly,the Alexander language model,which is very important in the environmental behavior theory,is used and analyzed for the possibility of establishing model language for internal space.The model language is build though systematic investigation,including survey,interview and questionnaires.And other important factors,such as ergonomics,environmental behavior and barrier-free design,are also considered.After all,the space layout and the seating facilities in the business and family areas were designed.It is considered that novel ideas could be proposed on internal space design of public transportation,which will make it more convenient and humanization.
