High-speed rail has been developing rapidly and the nationwide rapid passenger transport network which consists of high-speed rail and existing speed improved lines will be formed. On this basis, the passenger transport system of Beijing-Shanghai transportation corridor will be constituted by high-speed rail and the existing line; as a large capacity, high speed, high-comfort transportation, high-speed rail largely alleviates the pressure on the existing line and makes changes in the function and passenger structure of the existing line. Beijing-Shanghai existing line urgently need to change the passenger transport strategies to meet the changes in the railway transport market, to achieve the reasonable allocation of transport capacity and demand and rational utilization of capacity of the corridor.The paper studies the passenger transportation organization of Beijing-Shanghai existing line. Firstly, based on the characteristics of network, passengers and transportation organizations of the existing line, the paper analyzes the impact of high-speed rail on the existing line to determine the necessity for passenger train on the existing line, and then summaries the philosophy and features of passenger train planning. Furthermore, this paper studies the classification of passenger nodes and passenger level structure; and then aiming at the choice preference of passengers for service products, the paper analyzes the influencing factors of passenger travel choice behavior. Based on the above studies, this paper focuses on the theories and methods for passenger train planning, discuses the principle and puts forward the organizations' strategies according to the classification of passenger nodes, passenger level structure, reasonable division in the internal corridors; As a further, the paper studies the specific methods of passenger train planning, including running section division, OD flow adjustment, train types' arrangements and calculation of the number of trains; And then this paper proposes the goals and principles of stop scheme. Finally, according to the above theories and methods, the paper designs the passenger train planning of Beijing-Shanghai existing line of 2015.
