With the rapid growth of social economy and the requirement of sustainable development,the standard of environmental governance of lakes and medium or small sized rivers are improved,which will produce a large number of high moisture content of dredged mud.On the other hand,with the development of national urban transport and land resources shortage,it is naturally hope to find a way to treat this waste dredged mud so that it can be used as embankment filling engineering soil,which can realize resource recycling in the true sense.The project "East Lake tunnel of road engineering in Wuhan" and "East Lake dredging engineering in Wuhan" proposed in such circumstance.A series experiments which about properties of road application on East Lake dredged mud and cement modified for stabilized East Lake dredged mud.In addition,field test study is also carried out.The specific content includes the following four aspects:(1)A series of laboratory tests has been carried out about stabilized East Lake dredged mud.Comparing the physical and mechanical properties index of the stabilized mud from the test with current designing and construction road specifications,it shows that the stabilized mud can not be directly used as subgrade filling.(2)By comparing three kinds of treating methods(the physical method,heat treatment method,solidification method)of dredged mud at home or abroad,the solidification method has been selected to treat the stabilized East Lake mud.And after analysing several kinds of widely using inorganic curing agent,composite Portland cement is selected as the modifier to treat the solidified East Lake mud finally.(3)By doing laboratory test on solidified East Lake mud treated with cement in different dosage,curing age and degree of compaction,from the test result to analyse the relationship between above-mentioned three factors with strength(unconfined compressive strength,shear strength,CBR value,etc.),stiffness(compression resistance)and permeability of the cement modified mud.As a result,cement mixing ratio and curing age about cement modified mud was determined based on CBR strength,liquid limit,plastic index with other assisted index.That is 6% content of composite Portland cement curing 28 days can be used as embankment filling in “Wuhan East Lake tunnel Engineering”.(4)A field test section of road was chosen to be filled with the cement modified mud based on the laboratory test results,and corresponding long-term subsidence monitoring was carried forward.Monitoring results show the maximum cumulative settlement of all the monitoring points was less than 6 mm,which demonstrates this cement modified method and the filling technique is feasible and suitable.
