Over a period of time, with the development of building technology and equipment, the climate condition is less and less considered as the generation factors of building form. However, architecture is closely related to the climate and environment.Rely on air conditioning equipment to adjust the building thermal environment has gradually become the mainstream.A reasonable method should take climate design, especially passive design as a basic element at the beginning of design, and assist design decisions by quantitative analysis to achieve building energy efficiency.Among them, the passive design of the overall form of the building is an important factor affecting the energy consumption of the building.Through theoretical and practical research methods, taking the design process of Tianjin TEDA First Street exhibition hall as an example, this paper selected passive strategies that suit Tianjin's climate and characteristics of the project based on the passive design case study of the overall building form.In accordance with the design process, these strategies are applied to the overall planning layout, building design and landscape design in three stages. In the design process, combining energy simulation and wind environment simulation data analysis, the relationship between climate factors and other architectural design factors is coordinated to achieve the comparison and optimization of the programs. The paper provides a complete case of passive design research. It comprehensively integrates and analyzes the passive strategies of public buildings in cold regions, constructs a passive design flow framework, and promotes scientific decision-making and innovation of architectural design.
