The inefficient use of resources in transit corridor is the key to the problem of urban traffic congestion. Therefore, public transport priority is necessary. In recent years, the development of intelligent public transit has brought a large amount of data. How to analyze these data to identify the state of bus quickly and accurately to improve the bus management and decision-making has become a key issue for the development of public transport. The composition of traffic in transit corridor is very complex, and there are abundant bus resources but the competition is disordered.Bus faces multiple pressures and the optimization of transit corridor is extremely urgent. So,it is very meaningful to study the bottleneck identification of bus based on big data.Bus optimization methods guided by bottleneck identification also make sense.Firstly, the bus bottleneck is defined and classified based on the analysis of bus operating state and its characteristics. In addition,it analyzes the bottleneck factors.Based on the bottleneck formation mechanism, the capacity of public transport facilities on the corridor is studied. It reflects the availability of public transport.Secondly, the bottleneck identification indexes and its calculation method and identification system with three dimensions of time, space, and degree are established.Based on the bottleneck identification and analysis of bus operations, the comprehensive optimization methods are proposed from the three aspects of bus organization, road rights priority, and dynamic management,to balance the supply and demand of bus. Then, from the quantitative calculation and qualitative analysis, the evaluation indicators for public transportation vehicles, social vehicles, and individual travelers are established to analyze the effects of measures. Finally, take two typical transit corridors in Changzhou of Jiangsu Province as examples.Identify the bus bottlenecks on the two corridors, and analyze the typical causes of bottlenecks and put forward optimization measures.Next,a number of optimization scenarios are set up to evaluate its improvement. The results show that the comprehensive optimization method can significantly increase the transit corridors' operating efficiency.
