Study For Protective Design Of Hisakuan Dama Road Historic Area In Nanjing

The historical Area of Hisakuan Dama Road is an important commercial road in Nanjing's modern history.It was built and thrived with the found of Hsiakuan Commercial port for international business,and declined due the Japanese army occupation,the depression of the Yangtze River,and the migration of commercial functions.At present,in the western section of Dama Road,the old buildings such as the former branch of the Bank of China Nanjing Branch,the former site of the Jiangsu Post Administration Bureau and the former Hsiakuan Waiting House are remained.Architecture heritage and office buildings are preserved Juxtaposition,and the original features has no appearance.Today,the historical site of Dama Road has become a part of Nanjing Hsiakuan Historical Area.At this time,the historical site of Hisakuan Dama Road will carry out protective planning and design to promote regional characteristics.This paper relies on the Project of Nanjing Hisakuan Dama Road and summarizes the history of the Dama Road and the urban development context.This article makes a protective design for the western section of Dama Road which is based on the historical research,current research,and planning analysis of the site,and explores the design method.This paper is divided into six chapters: Chapter One,introduces the topic of the thesis,relevant research and research methods;Chapter Two,describes the historical evolution and spatial evolution of the Hsiakuan Dama Road;Chapter three,analyzes the urban spatial patterns of Daoma Road section and individual building characteristics;Chapter Four,uses urban analysis methods to analyze the current and planning conditions of the section,and determines the value the site of Dama Road.Chapter Five,combines historical research and urban analysis,proposes a design strategy for the west section of Dama Road,and discusses design methods from four aspects: urban connectivity,spatial structure,street style,and individual architecture.Chapter Six,reflects the design,and recognize the inadequacy of work and propose a visionIn this paper,through a large number of historical materials collected,surveying and mapping of the current building,presenting the scene of the construction and prosperity of the Hisakuan Dama Road section in the past 100 years.Making protective design for the western section of Dama Road to strengthen the urban context and highlight the value of the area.
