Architecture In Nanjing 1950s-1990s

From the aspect of fuction type,the thesis discussed the characteristics and evolution of concept of architecture in Nanjing from 1950s-1990 s,attempting to present the development of comtemprary morden architecture in Nanjing which based on the classification of representative cases,sorting and analysis of construcation time,designer,location,size and ect.On the basis above,the thesis revealed the evolution characteristic of architecture creation in Nanjing,and summarized,as a general city,Nanjing's contribution to modern architecture in China.The transition from the capital of the Republic of China to the provincial capital of Jiangsu was viewed as the important backgrand for the development of architecture after 1950,so based on the analysis of orientation,infrastructure and size,urban development stage was concluded as 1950s-1960 s,mid-1970s-1980 s and 1990 s.In addition,the evolution of architecture types of each period was summarized as well.On the basis of analysis above,three types of architecture,including residence,culture and education,monumental architecture,were selected for intensive study,the influencing factors,concept and the relationship with the city that behind the material form were revealed.Residence had undergo the changes form a single type,mainly for sleep,uniform design to various types,rich indoor fuction and divergent design,and present the more and more concern about the outdoor environment at the same time.Architectecture of culture and education reflected the characteristic of paying attention to the harmony with environment,and flexible use of interior space.Theoretical research had an impact on the of creation of the two types above.Monumental architectures,changed from the emphasis on individual molding to the combination between environment and architecture and symbolic design.Based on the urban transition and development of the three types above,the theis put forward historical stage of architecture in Nanjing as 1950s-1960 s,the middle of 1970 s to the middle of 1980 s,the end of 1980s-1990 s,and revealed the modified creation of architecture in Nanjing in the same time.Architecture in Nanjing from 1950s-1990 s showed the feature of environmental concern,practicality,unattractive appearance,advanced concept with lagging practice.
