Electric vehicle is meeting new opportunities and has gained rapid development in the situation to alleviate the energy shortage and environmental pollution caused by traditional cars.Compared with traditional cars,electric vehicle is still immature in performance.To ensure safe operation,it's necessary for us to monitor the operating parameters of the key components in real time.In this paper,a set of remote monitoring system is proposed and developed for electric vehicle.The driver only needs to insert the system's vehicle-mounted terminal into the car's CAN network interface.Then the driver can receive real-time operating parameters related to the vehicle safety performance through computer or cell phone.Thus we can make an estimation on the safety and handle problems in special circumstances timely to ensure life and property safety.This paper firstly introduces some basic concepts and key components of electric vehicles,then introduced the system design and CAN-bus communication technology,wireless WiFi communication technology and GPS communication technology.Then it elaborates the working principle,hardware and software structure of the remote monitoring system design.In this paper,a system is designed to collect the real-time operating parameters of a car based on the STM32 series microcontroller with GPS module and wireless WiFi module.The system sends the received real-time operating parameters to the driver's cell phone through wireless WiFi.The designed remote monitoring system is tested on a pure electric vehicle and the data is basically the same as the one measured by professional diagnostic equipment.The test result shows that the system has good performance and high reliability,which meets the standards of vehicle remote data acquisition and transmission.However,the system only collects part data from vehicle and requires further research on the data integrity.If the system can be further integrated with the remote monitoring center database,it will be able to timely feedback information that causes abnormal data to the owner so that owner can keep abreast of the vehicle performance.Maintenance enterprise can basically find the failure causes by checking the database which is of great convenience to vehicle maintenance while saving customers' waiting time.At the same time it can provide some reference value for the development of intelligent vehicles,Thus the market development is of bright future.
