Dual power automatic transfer switch(ATSE)has the function of improving the reliability and safety of the circuit,so it was very significent to research it dynamic characteristics.In this paper,a new type of electromagnetic operating mechanism of ATSE was studied.First of all,according to the design drawing,the PRO/ENGINEER software was used to establish the three-dimensional solid model of the ATSE.Meanwhile,the ANSOFT MAXWELL 3D software was used to calculate static characteristics such as flux and electromagnetic attraction under variation of air gap and current.Combined with the voltage balance equation and flux equations,dynamic simulation analysis of virtual prototype can be performed.Compared with the simulated and measured results of the voltage and current,virtual prototype of the ATSE could be verified.Secondly,the dynamic characteristics of the product were analyzed under three conditions,that was rated voltage 220 V,under-voltage of 85% and over-voltage of 115%.In addition,the influence of different voltage phase angles on electromagnetic force,the current and the moving core speed were also analyzed.The transmission processes of bar linkages were displayed and contact pressure and conversion time were presented by curves.Thirdly,two research ways of ATSE anti-force were put forward.Simulation test and analytic method were used for establishing counterforce characteristics curves under the different air gaps of cores.At the same time,the counterforce characteristic curve and electromagnetic force characteristic curve obtained by the former simulations were assorted,the worked current value of the electromagnetic mechanism were therefore obtained.Finally,the spring fixed limit pin position,linkage end position and contact quality were parameterized and optimized by using ADAMS built-in functions of parametric modeling.After optimization,the average conversion speed of the operating mechanism and the contact can be greatly improved,and achieve the purpose of shortening the transfer time of the ATSE under the premise of ensuring the reliability of the product.
