The Chinese Bell is not only a kind of historical relics,but also one classic Chinese culture.It is the material carrier of the ancient Chinese creation thought.On the basis of understanding the bell culture,this thesis studies the creation thought of the bell to inspire the contemporary Chinese product design.Based on the change of life style,this thesis analyzes the functions and forms of different bells in different social times,combs the development of Chinese traditional bell culture,and then summarizes the development characteristics of Chinese bell culture.This part paves the way for the study of creation thought of Chinese bell.After a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese bell culture,the thesis analyzes the Chinese bell culture further,and sums up the creation thoughts of Chinese Bell from the four aspects : bionic theory of bell,etiquette of bell,synthesis of bell and classics of bell.Next,combining with the modern consciousness,this thesis finds out the matching point between Chinese creation thoughts and modern products,and guides the contemporary product design from the four points of emotion,etiquette,combination and brief.Contemporary product design succeeds in passing on and innovating Chinese creation thoughts.Next,the thesis puts forward the product design flow based on the Chinese creation thoughts of bell,and demonstrate its feasibility with ceramic examples.The thesis argues the feasibility of the Chinese bell thought guiding contemporary product design and and opens the door of Chinese traditional creation thought guiding the contemporary product design.Finally,the thesis looks forward to deeper exploration of the Chinese traditional creation thought later,exploring the road of unique Chinese product design.
