In recent years,the application of belt is used more and more widely,as an important component of motorized pulley,the performance of the belt conveyor is determined directly by the quality of the motor.The Doubly Salient Electro-Magnet machine(DSEM)can run for four quadrant there are no windings in its rotor,which contributes to its simple structure and flexible control,reliable operation,high temperature resistance,high power density and high efficiency.The Doubly Salient Electro-Magnet only needs external control rectifier circuit while operating as a power generation.It has wide speed range working as a motor.Based on the existing research results of doubly salient motors,a three-phase 45kW24/16 pole doubly salient motor is designed for electric roller driving motor in this paper.In this article the development course and the research status of the doubly salient machine(DSM)are introduced firstly.Then the machine's simple ideal mathematical model is established.And we analyses its working principle of the power generation and electrical machine.The article also puts forward five kinds of electric control methods such as three phase three state and three phase six state.Secondly,according to the technical index of the subject,the 24/16 pole electric DSEM is designed for the electric roller in terms of structure and size.The finite element method is applied to analyze the magnetic field.And a series of static characteristics are investigated,such as air gap magnetic density,inductance and armature reaction.Also a primary research work has been done on some steady characteristics of the motor,such as phase current,field flux.Different control strategies are compared and analyzed,which provide references for the application promotion of DSEM.The torque ripple will cause the vibration and noise of the electrical machine.The DSEM is very noisy while running.The cogging torque and the reluctance torque are discussed to decrease the torque ripple of machine in this paper.The influence of the segmented motor structure on the output torque of the motor is also studied.According to the designed structure parameters in this article a prototype motor is made.Testing the electrical no-load working curve of prototype motor provided the DSEM for the possibility of high-speed operation.
