After a geostationary satellite on orbit failures,it will cause a huge waste of space resources,and it should perform operations,such as capturing,assisting deorbit,or maintenance.The life-extending technology of satellites in geostationary orbit can not only obtain great economic benefits,but also relieve the tension of geostationary orbit resources to some extent.After catching the target satellite,the latch mechanism of the docking ring connecting satellite with rocket is used to lock it.This paper aims to design a latch mechanism for different size of the docking ring.Firstly,the typical mechanisms of the latching mechanism at home and abroad are summarized,the working principle,transmission mode,advantages and disadvantages,and applicable scope of each type of latch mechanism are introduced in detail.This will pave the way for the structural design of the latch mechanism of the docking ring connecting satellite with rocket.Then,according to the design requirements of the latch mechanism of the docking ring,the structure design of the latch mechanism of the docking ring is carried out,the overall layout and locking force of the latch mechanism are determined,the main components are designed and calculated,including the design and calculation of the sliding spirals transmission,the selection of guide rails,the structural design of the locking parts,and the relevant parameters of the latch mechanism are determined.Afterwards,a multi-body dynamics model was established for dynamic simulation,the simulation results show that the latch mechanism of the docking ring designed in this paper can meet the design requirements and accurately and steadily lock the docking ring on the target satellite form an assembly,generate enough pretightening force,during the combination of body movements,the takeover aircraft and the target satellite always maintain the state of the assembly.In order to reduce the consumption of electric energy on satellites and improve the reliability of the locking parts,the structural parameters of the crank and connecting rod,the journal radius in the latch mechanism of the docking ring were optimized.Finally,a fault tree model is built for the designed latch mechanism,and the minimum cut sets of the fault tree model is obtained by the uplink method to evaluate the weak link of the reliability of the system.
