With the continuous deepening of computer simulation and parametric design in the filed of architectural design, researches on building physical performance design has undergone considerable development. It takes architectural physical indicators such as daylighting, ventilation, thermal load as the ultimate design goal.Parametric design tools are used to link the design parameters with the physical performance indicators obtained by the final simulation. Then, architects can find the best design for physical performance by using optimization algorithms like genetic algorithm and Pareto frontier. This design method has greatly liberated the manpower wasted in the artificial selection process. It also provides a new way for architectural design.Based on this method, this paper optimize the design of lighting opening in institutional pension building.Through the optimization, traditional natural lighting static evaluation index(Illuminance,DF)and annual dynamic evaluation index(sDA,sUDI,ASE)are intrudced respectively.Meanwhile, this paper adjusted these index according to the special visual physiology of the elderly. After all these parperation, the experiment of optimizing the shape and angle of lighting opening is expanded by Galapagos and Octopus in Grasshopper. Finally, this paper verify the feasibility and necessity of this method by analyzing experimental data.
