Research On The Urban Soundscape Protection Level And The Corresponding Protection Strategy

with the improvement of urban modernization,the sound environment is getting worse and worse.Soundscape emphasize the importance of the balance between various sounds which bring about new idea to the urban sound control field.Therefore,how to curb the spread of urban noise,save the sound with urban and time characteristics.establishment and protection the harmonious urban soundscape system is a research project that needed further study for acoustics researchers.Among the various soundscape researches,the research objects mainly center on urban specific areas.But the research on the sound protection of the whole city is lack,and the research on the protection of urban sound is mainly focused on the qualitative level,lacking of systematic quantitative research.As a part of National Natural Science Found Project-Lend an Ear to Urban Sound— a Preliminary Research on Urban Soundscape Protection Methods and Model Establishment,this research is mainly intended to revolve around the following four parts: the first part defines the protection content of the city;these soundscapes that were intended to be protected within urban were classified in the second part;the protection grades were evaluated for these soundscapes that were intended to be protected;last based on Based on previous research results protection strategies were worked out.First of all,through the social survey method,the top 20 soundscapes most deserved to be protected within Tianjin City were determined they are: the sound of Hai River,the birds' warbling sound in Water Park,the bell of Century Clock in Tianjin Station,the light music of Italian Flavor Street,the ripple of Tianjin Cultural Center,the cry of paddlers and bustling sound of the crowded in Ancient Cultural Street,the sound of “rustle” when the breeze blows over the leaves,the chatting sound of the neighbors,the overall tranquil sound environment of Five Avenue,the immaterial cultural sound like the cross-talk performed in Water Park,the ship's siren from Hai River,the sound of radio within campuses(parks),the sound of cicad as within campuses(parks),the sound of children's frolic,the sound of gentle wind,the sound of a carriage passing the Five Avenue,numerous sports sounds from the aged persons,the sound of musical instrument in Water Park like drumming,the sound ofrainning in park and the sound of reading within the campus.Based on this results,through the soundwalk,factor analysis,and cluster analysis,it is founded that these soundscapes that were deserved to be protected falls into five categories.the sound of musical instrument in Water Park like drumming,the sound of a carriage passing the Five Avenue,the light music of Italian Flavor Street,the immaterial cultural sound like the cross-talk performed in Water Park were same category.numerous sports sounds from the aged persons,the sound of children's frolic were same category.the ripple of Tianjin Cultural Center,the birds' warbling sound in Water Park were same category.the sound of “rustle” when the breeze blows over the leaves,the sound of gentle wind and the overall tranquil sound environment of Five Avenue were same category.the cry of paddlers and bustling sound of the crowded in Ancient Cultural Street was a section.And then protection level were established for different soundscapes that were deserved to be protected.The result of the protection level assessment shows that the urban soundscape protection ranked highest isthe relaxation,vitality,and naturalness.At last,this research focused on the urban soundscape protection strategies.Based on the current problems and our results of the classification and protection level evaluation some specific and targeted soundscape protection strategies were summarized.
