Tengchong Majugu Multi-functional Cultural Center Design And Regional Materials And Public Space Analysis

Tengchong Majugu Multi-functional Cultural Center located in the northeast of Tengchong,Yunnan Province.It is in the Majugu Tourism Resort.It is 12 kilometers away from the county seat,adjacent to the Yuerongzhuang hotel in the south.The health care centre is in the east and the original farmland ecological landscape in the north.The total construction area of the project is 5,931 square meters,and the construction area of Terrace Plaza on the east side of the building is 5,613 square meters.Based on the analysis of the environment of the base and the flow of people,as well as the architectural functions,the design focuses on the following points:firstly,the multi-functional cultural center is located in Tengchong,with excellent natural conditions,and the volcanic rock in Tengchong is also good regional material.The focus of the design is to reflect the regional nature of Tengchong.Secondly,the multi-functional cultural center is not only for the Majugu Tourism Resort,but also for the surrounding citizens.Because it's at the junction of several roads with a lot of traffic,the publicity of the project becomes very important.This project use the local volcanic rock as regional materials.Volcanic rock has unique physical properties,such as it has a lot of holes,so the quality is light,it can even be able to float on the water.It has good insulation and it is also energy saving.So many advantages make it a very good building materials.In Tengchong,volcanic rock is only used as the veneer stone for landscape and architecture,but Its thermal properties are not well utilized.Volcanic rock cage curtain wall is used on the outer facade of the building,and angle iron is raised on the keel,because the stone cage curtain wall has large area,the angle iron keeps it stable.The size of each stone cage unit is 1000mm wide,500mm high and 300mm thick.The upper of stone cage unit is not surrounded by barbed wire,the other five sides are surrounded by barbed wire to prevent stone falling.The height interval of the steel keel at the back is 300mm,and its width is 200mm.The stone cage fixed on the steel keel will leave a gap of 100mm,which make it easy to hold volcanic rocks.Here are the steps of the installation sequence of the whole volcanic rock cage curtain wall:after fixing the steel keel on the building structure,the stone cage unit is not put into the volcanic rock,it is installed from the bottom up.When the first row is installed,mount the volcanic rock from the 100mm gap,and then fix the upper row of stone cage,mount the volcanic rock,and then install the above stone cage.Install in this order.The definition of public space in Tengchong Majugu Multi-functional Cultural Center is diverse.People can not only experience the public space in a single building,but also can get to Terrace Plaza on the east side for a broader experience.The whole project adopts a simple volume,and the feature of geometric matrix makes the building itself become a contemporary memorial.The large footpath surrounded by the auditorium of 1000 people in the center presents the strategy of publicity the building.The openness of the public walk enables the interaction by providing event space to stimulate various behaviors.In the meandering and wandering,the density of time increases,and people's experience of space is meaningful.Natural elements such as bamboo forest and water system are also brought into it,and the architecture shows a stage-view effect.The exterior skin of the building adopts the stone cage curtain wall,which made of volcanic stone in Tengchong.At different interfaces of the building,sunlight can cast a shadow natural light through the volcanic rock,which making the inside of the building more bright.The Terrace Square on the east side of the building also presents the most public posture.It adopts leisure devices set at each node,which become containers to accommodate people's various daily behaviors.Tengchong Majugu Multi-functional Cultural Center tries to create unique and iconic,contemporary regional,public place and ecological experience of the architecture.
