Research On Interior Renewal Design Of Shuiwei Residential Buildings In Central Anhui Province

Watershed dwelling is a unique form of local dwelling in central Anhui.It took shape in the late Qing Dynasty,when the Nian Army uprising and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement began.Therefore,under the backgroun d of social unrest and disorder of etiquette and music,several local regiments(local armed forces)were bred in the three mountain areas of Xixiang,Hefei(Zipeng Mountain,Zhou Gong Mountain and Daqianshan Mountain).It is precisely because each regiment practices encircling the Polders and Zhazhai villages in the Three Mountains area to defend against the enemy,thus speeding up the construction of polder dwellings.So it is from these local regiments that the generals of Huaijun entered the political stage of the late Qing Dynasty.After the return of Huaijun generals’collar Jinrong,they quickly promoted the construction of Shuiwei dwelling houses.For a time,Shuiwei dwellings were buried in three mountain areas like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.Among them,Tang Wufang Dingkui’s "Turning Tower" studied in this paper is the former residence of Tang Dingkui,a general of Huaijun Army.The author envisages that through in-depth exploration of Huaijun’s culture,the "Turning Tower"which has been quiet for more than a hundred years can be regenerated and designed to be both epochal and modern,and then the research space can be designed to transmit the excellent Huaijun culture as a carrier.
