Optimization Of International Project Logistics Transportation Program

Since the reform and opening-up,the scale of contracting foreign projects of Chinese enterprises is increasing rapidly.Meanwhile,the implementation of "going out" and "the Belt and Road" further encourages the development of domestic project logistics enterprises.But as most of the projects are implemented in developing countries,there are numerous challenges such as limited infrastructure,therefore more requirements are put forward for international project logistics management.The remarkable features of the international project logistics are the multiple links,enormous and intensive shipped batches,long period of transportation,various transportation modes,long transportation distance,high logistics cost and the big technical barriers.As a consequence,it is necessary to carry out comprehensive program,organization and coordination before the establishment of the transportation program,so as to meet the requirements on total transportation cost,total transportation time and reliability of transportation program,thereby to ensure the smooth implementation of the project construction and the logistics and transportation.Optimizing international project logistics management can effectively plan the whole complicated transportation process,reduce cost,save time and guarantee its smooth operation,and ultimately bring a lot of positive significance to the progress of the entire overseas engineering projects.On the basis of summarizing the characteristics of international project logistics,this paper highlights the analysis of the main modes of transportation and characteristics of means of transportation in the process of international project logistics,as well as the form and system of project logistics enterprises when serving EPC projects.And then the transportation optimization model which includes transportation total cost,transportation total time and the reliability of transportation program is proposed.With one real case,the availability of the model is verified afterwards.And further to make sure that the transportation programs are well implemented,supporting measures and emergency measures should be taken at the same time.Lastly,it is expected that this paper will provide inspiration for more EPC enterprises.
