With the continuous research on steel structure in China,many advantages have been found,such as no harmful substances in the construction process and steel is a material that can be recycled,and it is a kind of green building material.However,with the continuous development of China's construction industry,people's aesthetic requirements for buildings are constantly improving,and buildings with regular shapes can no longer meet people's needs.Therefore,irregular buildings are constantly rising in China,but Such buildings put no small demands on how to achieve high seismic performance.Therefore,the study of seismic performance of irregular steel structures is of great significance.This paper first introduces the causes and classification of earthquakes,then introduces the development of irregular buildings in China,and finally introduces the development degree of steel structures in China.In this paper,four models are established by Sap2000 finite element analysis software,which has no support for model one;single oblique support for model two;herringbone support for model three;and shear wall for model four,four models are respectively Modal analysis,response spectrum analysis,linear time history analysis and nonlinear time history analysis.Since the damper has been widely used in practical engineering,the damper is set in the end to study the damping effect of the damper on the structure.It is found that the period,frequency and quality parameters of the structure are obtained by modal analysis.The first mode of the four models is mainly represented by the Y-direction translation,and the second mode is characterized by the X-direction translation.The third mode is mainly characterized by twisting in the Z direction.The interlayer displacement and interlayer displacement angle of each structure were obtained by response spectrum analysis.The interlayer displacements in the X direction of the four models were smaller than the interlayer displacements in the Y direction,which indicates that the stiffness in the X direction is greater than the stiffness in the Y direction.The resulting interlayer displacement angle is less than 1/250,in line with national regulations.In the linear and nonlinear time history analysis of the structure,three kinds of seismic waves are selected as EI-centro wave,Taft wave and Lanzhou wave.The comparative analysis of the data shows that the best seismic effect under the EI-centro wave is Set the single oblique support,the best seismic effect under Taft wave and Lanzhou wave is to setthe shear wall,which is consistent with the response spectrum analysis.Finally,the damping effect of the viscous damper on the structure is studied.It is known from the data that the viscous damper has a good damping effect,especially under the Taft wave and Lanzhou wave.
