This paper mainly studies the differential lightning protection technology of 500 kV transmission line and evaluates its application effect.It puts forward a specific differential lightning protection technology transformation scheme for a transmission line,and analyzes the impact on lightning protection level after the implementation of the scheme.500 kV transmission line is the main grid of Shandong power grid and the reliable energy channel for power supply in Shandong.With the 500 kV Xinliao Line ??? officially put into operation in 2005,Shandong Power Grid has formally connected with the external power grid system and formally accepted external clean energy,which marks a new chapter in the development of Shandong power grid.The safe and stable operation of the 500kV main grid has important economic and political significance for the sustainable development of the national economy and the people's living and working in peace and contentment.Lighting is the main reason to cause the trip fault of transmission lines.Lighting trip-out rate not only has direct relationship with the voltage level,and is closely relate to the geographical location of the transmission line,lightning activity,structural parameters of transmission line itself and transmission line insulation strength.Firstly,the lightning discharge process,the relevant lightning parameters and the basic calculation method of lightning protection for transmission lines are studied in this paper,and the mainstream lightning protection measures are summarized.Secondly,this subject collects the geographical and climatic characteristics of Shandong in recent years and the basic operation of 500 kV transmission lines.The lightning protection technology of 500 kV transmission lines in Shandong Province is briefly analyzed.Through the analysis and application of the new generation of lightning location system,the characteristics of lightning failure are summarized,And all kinds of lightning protection measures are simulated.Finally,the lightning protection technology of a typical 500 kV transmission line is studied,the lightning location monitoring system is used to analyze the mechanics of lightning activities in this area.The specific differentiated lightning protection technology transformation scheme is put forward to improve the overall lightning protection level of this line and finally realize the goal of reducing the fault trip rate caused by lightning activities.
