This paper did research and design on the Lightning Protection of Hami erbao line. Currently, transmission lines can reach full shielding requirements, but in operation,it's still hit by lightning in the round, this article explains the reason of suffering transmission lines around by geometric model and in accordance with Hami region-specific circumstances, we design the line surge arrester for lightning protection, and achieved very good results.In i this paper, transmission line lightning protection issues in-depth study to Hami erbao transmission lines as the background for the proposed 110kV transmission line lightning performance of the integrated approach, as much as possible to reduce the rate of lightning trip. But also made use of lower tower grounding resistance, enhanced line insulation level, with line arresters to improve the level of mine-resistant lines of specific measures to reduce the rate of lightning trip. In this paper, the existing transmission line, lightning protection research conducted on the basis of 110kV transmission line tower,lightning and thunder hit around the wire when the voltage of the calculation and analysis of the impact in the actual operation of Line Surge Arresters in a variety of factors play a role. Practice shows that the line arresters can significantly improve the high-voltage transmission line lightning performance, increase the level of transmission lines Withstand, transmission line grounding resistance, the span between towers and other factors on the application of line arresters have some effect, when the grounding resistance increase the span between towers increases, the line type of transmission line arresters Lightning level weakens gradually.
