The Spatial Form And Cultural Expression Of Folk Academies In The West Of Hunan Province

Academy education plays an important role can not be ignored in the history of traditional education.Compared with official school,Academy buildings is so different,which has its own characteristics such as architectural layout and space organization.The influence of Chinese academy on Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound.Folk academy is rooted in rural areas and spread all over the country.Its service to the bottom of the public,make an important contribution to the popularization of culture and education.Xiangxi is located in the remote areas around mountains of western Hunan,compared with other district of Hunan province,traffic,feudal society,economic,cultural and educational,living standards and other aspec ts has been in a backward state.But in the Qing Dynasty after the resignation,Xiangxi academy culture and education was officially on track.The Xiangxi folk academy,as an important part of the Xiangxi Academy,is close to the countryside and facing the public,which make an important contribution to the development of culture and education in western Hunan.Xiangxi folk academy is different from that of other areas.It is formed a regional cultural characteristics of the architectural style in the multi-cultural influence.Therefore,this research is based on the actual case study of Xiangxi academy education,select two point cuts to study Xiangxi flok academy.On one hand,it summarizes the spatial characteristics of the architectural space of Xiangxi folk academy from the aspects of site selection,environment construction,space handling techniques and spatial form of building monomer.On the other hand,from the perspective of architectural culture analysis the cultural expression of the Multi-culture in the spatial form;architectural structure and architectural decoration art of Xiangxi folk academy.Through the study of the spatial characteristics of the architectural buildings and the cultural expression of Xiangxi folk academy,we can conclude that the Xiangxi folk academy has the architectural style and cultural connotation with regional characteristics.So it is the practical significance of Xiangxi folk academy for the existence and protection.
