Study On The Spatial Form And Cultural Characteristics Of Dongshan Academy In Xiangxiang

Academy is an important carrier of our traditional culture.The location of academy was paid much attention to,and it is usually built in beautiful places.The combination of spatial hierarchy,convey the concept of "harmony" in Chinese traditional culture.the architectural style is simple and elegant,and it has a strong literary flavor.Therefore,the architectural concepts and space design techniques contained in the traditional academies of our country can provide a good reference for the construction of modern colleges and universities.Xiangxiang Dongshan Academy was founded in 1895,and it was firstly named "Dongshan jingshe".In the past hundred years,it has trained a lot of talents,such as Mao Zedong,Tan Zheng and other famous people.Dongshan Academy faces Lianshui river,and it is on the back of the Dongtai mountain,so it's environment is quiet.The overall appearance of Dongshan Academy is oval,the space combination of it is varied.And the sequence of space is master-slave coordinated and balanced.The feature of the overall layout of the academy is so-call "a main spindle,and multi axis".And it was consist of the theprototype--"room".The layout of the academy depended on a central axis.From the south to the north,the central axis is the gate,the lecture hall and the ritual hall.East and west sides are dormitories.In this article,the author divides the architectural elements in Dongshan Academy into five parts: Lecture space,library space,sacrificial space,house space and garden space.The space types are flexible,and they are mainly the following:(1)to create a different atmosphere with the change of spatial scale;(2)the space changes of space opening and closing;(3)the contrast effect in space;(4)migration routes;(5)the expression of the implicit king and King box.At the same time,the spatial forms of Dongshan Academy are influenced by li-yue culture and Huxiang culture.Under the influence of the traditional ritual culture,the layout of the buildings in Dongshan college has obvious vertical series,and the courtyards were set up along the central axis,finally they formed into a progressive spatial layout.In the Academy,the main buildings,such as lecture hall,ritual hall and library,are arranged on the central axis,and the other subsidiary functions are distributed on both sides.In the multi-level spatial sequence,the multiple courtyards are arranged in order,and they became a form whole.On the combination of architectural space,Dongshan Academy not only embodies the characteristics of ritual culture,but also highlights the connotation of music culture.It' specific performance is that,there is a harmonious relationship between the courtyards.The greening and landscape facilities were set in the garden,and they formed into a organic unity.Therefore,the academy can create a close,clear and varied spatial atmosphere.Due to the influence of Huxiang culture,the construction of Dongshan Academy has two main characteristics of rigorous and practical.On the one hand,the portrait sequence of Dongshan Academy is obvious.With the axis as the basis,the main buildings were arranged sequentially in orders.On the other hand,the layout of Dongshan Academy has great flexibility.For example,the function of rooms on both sides of the axis could be multiple.They could be used not only as the president;s living space,not only as the libraryCompared to the Yuelu academy which has a long history,Dongshan Academy is "young",but the layout and the spatial combination mode of it,are still fully convey the characteristics of our traditional culture,showing the impact on architecture of China's Li li-yue culture and Huxiang cultureSo,I think that Xiangxiang Dongshan Academy not only convey various characteristics of traditional academy constructions,but also has the profound connotation of local architectural culture.The study of Dongshan Academy,is of great significance for the heritage and development of China's traditional academy architectural culture.This paper aims to combine the theory of previous studies,and analysis the constructions of Xiangxiang Dongshan Academy,explore their features of location,layout and appearance,and sum up the design techniques of the buildings in academy,summarize the factors that influence the architectural style,and draw inspiration and suggestions on the current high school campus construction.
